NorthNetwork RP Rules
(Updated August 2026)
Respect others
Treat all players and staff with respect, in and out of character. No harassment, discrimination, or targeted abuse is allowed.
Follow staff instructions
Staff decisions are binding during a scene. If you disagree, use tickets or appeals after — do not argue in‑game.
No cheating or exploiting
Any use of cheats, exploits, or third‑party tools to gain advantage is forbidden. Report bugs and exploits to staff rather than abusing them.

General Conduct
Communication Rules
Voice required
You must have a working microphone and use push‑to‑talk; console RP depends on voice interaction.
Language
Main language is English; other languages may be used within RP but you must be able to communicate in English with staff and other players.
OOC channels
Use Discord / tickets for complaints, reports, and long OOC discussions, not in‑game chat.
Staying In Character (IC)
- Remain in character at all times when you are in an RP session.
- Only brief, clearly marked OOC comments are allowed (e.g. “OOC: my mic cut out”).
- Do not discuss real‑life topics or server drama in the middle of scenes.
Metagaming
- Do not use information gained outside the game (Discord, streams, DMs, map blips) as in‑character knowledge.
- Your character only knows what they have learned in‑character.
Examples:
- Watching a stream and then “miraculously” knowing someone’s location.
- Using Discord messages to find a target when your character was never told IC.
Powergaming
- Do not force outcomes on other players or roleplay actions that are physically impossible.
- Always give others a chance to react to actions taken against them.
Examples:
- “/me knocks you out instantly” with no chance for the other player to respond.
- Acting completely fine after a major crash or fall.
Fail RP / Non‑RP
- Any behaviour that would clearly not make sense in real life (ignoring obvious injuries, treating guns like toys, driving like a superhero) is fail RP.
Repeated fail RP can lead to kicks, character wipes, or bans.
Core Roleplay Standards
Fear Roleplay (Fear RP)
- Your character must value their life and freedom.
- If you are held at gunpoint, heavily outnumbered, or boxed in, you must act realistically — not draw weapons or charge attackers for no good reason.
Random Deathmatch (RDM)
- You may not injure or kill other players without a clear RP reason and proper escalation.
- All conflict must be led by story: words, threats, and prior events, not instant shooting.
Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)
- You may not use vehicles as weapons (ramming, running people over) without strong RP justification.
- “Hit and run for no reason” and “repeated tapping to keep someone ragdolled” are VDM.
New Life Rule (NLR)
- When your character dies and the situation is concluded, you forget the exact events that led to that death.
- You may not immediately return to the same scene or seek revenge based on that death.
Combat Logging
- Do not disconnect mid‑scene to avoid arrest, injury, or losing gear.
- If you must leave suddenly, notify staff or other players OOC where possible.
These apply to all players at all times:
No shooting from moving vehicles.
HSW vehicles, Super cars, and most Sport cars are not allowed.
Motorbikes are banned due to desync and stability issues.
Drive in a way that suits the character and setting (no constant 100mph city driving unless the scene justifies it).
Staff may remove vehicles from use if they break these rules or clearly do not fit server balance.
All cars must follow the rp area and be realistic
Vehicle Rules (NNRP)
DMV System and Vehicle Registration
(Start of Season 2)
NNRP uses a DMV registration system tied to the roleplay bot and car packs to keep vehicles realistic and support the server economy.
DMV Job and Purpose
DMV is both:
- An in‑character job (DMV staff role).
- A server system controlling vehicle registration and values.
DMV staff:
- Register new vehicles using the roleplay bot.
- Update registration plates, colours, and ownership details.
- Assign vehicles into tiers based on value.
- Inspect vehicles seized or flagged for illegal modifications.
Vehicle Tier System
When a new car is registered, DMV staff place it into one of seven tiers:
Tier 1 – £2,500
Tier 2 – £5,000
Tier 3 – £10,000
Tier 4 – £15,000
Tier 5 – £20,000
Tier 6 – £30,000
Tier 7 – £40,000
These tiers are used for:
- Purchase / registration cost.
- Economy balance (not everyone instantly in top‑tier cars).
- RP around owning nicer or rarer vehicles.
Player Responsibilities
- Registration through roleplay bot
- Every vehicle must be registered via the roleplay bot.
- If DMV staff are online, you must visit the DMV in person to complete registration and any updates (plate, colour, owner).
- Use of unregistered vehicles
- If the DMV is closed, no DMV staff are online, and no one can respond to a ticket, you may temporarily use a vehicle only if it follows the NNRP vehicle rules (no HSW, Super, or most Sports; no bikes; no shooting from cars).
- As soon as DMV staff come online and the DMV opens, you are required to register any vehicles you are using as soon as possible.
- Illegal modifications
- If a vehicle is seized or flagged for illegal modifications, it must go back through the DMV for inspection.
- DMV staff decide whether the vehicle fits NNRP rules and tier limits; if not, it may be downgraded or removed.
DMV Tickets
When DMV staff are offline:
- Players must open a DMV Contact ticket and fill in the provided template:
- Character name and ID.
- Vehicle model and description.
- Plate, colour, and any mods.
- Requested tier or “staff decide”.
- Tickets will be processed once DMV staff are online.
- Failing to register vehicles once staff are available may result in fines or removal of the vehicle from RP.
